Performed during the Selichot service at Reformed Congregation Keneseth Israel synagogue in 2015
This is an excerpt of a performance of John Rutter's Requiem recorded in 2014 at Swarthmore Presbyterian Church.
If you are interested in attending a Presbyterian Church that combines classical music with traditional liturgical music, and strives for excellence in performance, Swarthmore Presbyterian Church should be your destination. Especially during the Christmas and Easter seasons, SPC has continued to delight their church goers with outstanding performances of major works such as Mozart's Requiem, Handel's Messiah, Rutter's Requiem, Faure's piano quartet, Schubert's piano quintet (the Trout), Brahms' Requiem, etc. with the highly gifted Jeffrey DeVault as its choir director, orchestra conductor and piano accompanist. No doubt, the high level of performance from year to year may be owing to the fact that the very best musicians of the Philadelphia Orchestra are invited to play. In return, these world class musicians give their very best to each performance knowing how musically sophisticated and appreciative their listening audience is to the artful playing of their instruments.
